Skipper Virat Kohli led from the front with a fluent century as India wrapped up the five-match series 3-1 with a convincing eight-wicket win over West Indies on Thursday.

The match was a test of character for Kohli and his men after the unexpected 11 run loss against the hosts in the low-scoring fourth ODI in Antigua. But Kohli meant business as he anchored India's chase with his 28th ODI century that came off 115 balls and was studded with 12 fours and two sixes.

Kohli played a chanceless knock and dictated the terms. He showed his class and brought up his 28th ODI century, a record 18th while chasing, with a boundary of Kesrick Williams.

This took him past Master-Blaster Sachin Tendulkar's record of scoring 17 centuries while chasing. The big difference is the number matches it took for both the stellar batsmen. While God of Cricket scored 17 hundred in 232 innings, it took only 102 innings for Kohli to reach the milestone.

During the home series against England, Kohli had already broken Sachin Tendulkar's record for most centuries in successful chases and now he has gone past Tendulkar for most hundreds in the 50-over format while batting second.

Sri Lanka's Tillakaratne Dilshan is the third batsman on the list with 11 centuries in 116 innings.

But this is not all. Kohli also became the first Indian captain to score two hundreds against West Indies on their home grounds. Until Thursday, Rahul Dravid and Kohli shared the position of being the ton-scoring captains against Windies.
