Everyone was expecting Virat Kohli to score another big knock.

Virat Kohli notched up his 23rd century in Test cricket on Monday. Kohli set many records as he scored his second century on the tour. Kohli had missed out on a century in the first innings but was given a life in the nineties in the second. He celebrated the ton in trademark style- blowing a kiss to wife Anushka Sharma.
Everyone was full of praise for the Indian captain. However, there was no doubt in everyone's mind that Kohli was going to notch up another big one given his form and talent. But this innings was more about grit and determination.
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar called the knock from Virat Kohli 'sublime'.
Another sublime knock by @imVkohli and a gritty one by @cheteshwar1. #TeamIndia in a really strong position to finish the game now. #ENGvIND pic.twitter.com/MvF7bvpBTZ

VVS Laxman was right on point when he said that we are getting used to Kohli doing such things.
We have all gotten so used to Virat Kohli scoring 100’s. Have a feeling he will cherish this one a lot once we win this Test match.

Harsha Bhogle praised Virat Kohli for his inning.
No 23 for Kohli. Hard fought, well crafted, master of all formats. Loved his application. 2014 is buried.

Mohammad Kaif talked about the amazing rate of conversion from 50s into hundreds by the Indian captain.
The exceptional rate of conversion continues. Makes a statement like a boss. Kohli scored 692 in the 4 tests in Australia in 2014. And looks like he will score in excess of that in the 5 tests here. What a turnaround after the difficult 2014 here. Stuff of champions.

Former India cricketer and expert Aakash Chopra was all praise for Virat Kohli's innings.
Hunger & Discipline. That’s what separates him from the rest. Kohli’s indeed the best batsman on the planet across three formats... #23 #ModernMaster

On England’s last tour to India, Kohli was miles ahead of Root...but those were Indian conditions, one could say.

Kohli is fairly ahead of Root in this series too. In England. #EngvInd
Michael Vaughan has already said it and he was not shy to say it again.
He is no question at all the best player in the world ... @imVkohli ... #100 #ENGvIND
