For millions of cricket fans the name Tendulkar is synonymous with the game.

However, Sachin Tendulkar, called the God of cricket, does not want his name to overshadow his son. The master blaster thinks that his son should be valued on his own performances and there should be no comparisons with him.

When asked whether he saw the next Sachin in his son, Tendulkar said, "No, he should be "Arjun". There shouldn't be any comparison."

He also added that he is giving Arjun the freedom to explore his choices. “He’s trying. Like my father gave me freedom, I’m giving him freedom. Whatever he wants to be in life, he has to give his best,” the 44-year told Times of India in Greater Noida during the Auto Expo on Wednesday.

While he admitted that there the pressure of being his son added to the pressure that already exists for a young player.

Tendulkar further added that Arjun should focus on the sport and not worry about the media pressures.

When asked about India’s current team, Tendulkar said that he does not wish to compare teams.

“They all have contributed in their own ways and to get to this level, all the players have sacrificed and worked hard. So I don’t like taking away something from someone,” he said.

Arjun Tendulkar had recently impressed one and all with his bowling in the Cooch Behar Trophy.

Then the 18-year-old has grabbed the eyeballs due to his all-round performance in the Spirit of Cricket Global Challenge, organised by the Sydney Cricket Ground.

The young cricketer caught the attention of Australian media with 27-ball 48 and 4 wickets in a match at Bradman Oval.

While his father was a bastman who was a very handy bowler, Arjun is mainly a left arm pacer who can also bat.
