India got off to a flying start in the second ODI against South Africa in Centurion on Sunday.

Veteran opener Hashim Amla looked promising in his brief stay of 23 off 32 after Indian captain Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to chase.

Amla hit four blazing boundaries in the first nine overs but was dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar just as he looked to cut loose. That opened the floodgates as South Africa went from 39 for no loss to 51 for 4 in the span of four overs.

Amla's opening partner Quinton de Kock was the next man to go. The left-hander tried to send leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal over the ropes but only managed to find Hardik Pandya in the deep.

Aiden Markram, captaining the Proteas for the first time, walked in next. The 23-year-old perished in a similar fashion to De Kock. He played a pull in the air off Kuldeep Yadav, despite the fact that there was a fielder at deep square-leg. Bhuvi completed the formalities with a fine catch well above his head on the boundary ropes.

David Miller fell for a duck in the same over to a wonderfully flighted delivery by Kuldeep. The left-handed aggressive batsman went for a big booming drive through covers but edged the ball to Ajinkya Rahane at slip.

India have named the same team that beat South Africa by six wickets in the first match in Durban. South Africa, however, have been forced to make a couple of changes. Khaya Zondo has been handed an ODI debut, coming in place of injured Faf du Plessis while left-arm wrist- spinner Tabraiz Shamsi was named in place of all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo.

South Africa's batting, with the absence of Faf and AB de Villiers, was fragile coming in to the second ODI on Sunday. The batsmen they were left with sure didn't help their cause with careless shot selection.
