Australian wicket-keeper Alyssa Healy, who is the niece of the great Ian Healy and wife of current Aussie pace spearhead Mitchell Starc, is joined by Twitterati in slamming Indian cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar for his despicable post on social media.

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar put his foot in his mouth on Wednesday when he put out an infuriating post on social media. The cricketer turned commentator posted a note in which he reflected on an incident that made him 'quite angry'.
Manjrekar wrote about a 'sight' during the ICC Women's World Cup clash between India and Australia last year. In that match, India's Harmanpreet Kaur played one of the greatest knocks in women's cricket when she blasted her way to an unbeaten 171. Manjrekar's point was that the Australians didn't applaud Harmanpreet's knock at the end of the innings, which he believes is a reflection of how cricketers Down Under are graceless.
Manjrekar's post, though, drew sharp criticism from the majority of Twitterati, with current Aussie wicket-keeper Alyssa Healy being one of the first ones to slam him. Netizens were particularly peeved at the timing of Manjrekar's post, as Australian cricket is dealing with an embarrassing ball-tampering scandal involving their top male players.
"Will never forget a sight that made me quite angry at that time," Manjrekar started out in his post.
"Harmanpreet Kaur had just played one of the all time great innings of 171 n.o in the Women's World Cup semi final in England last year.
"At the end of the innings, not one Australian player waited for Kaur to leave the field first. Forget applause, there was not even an acknowledgement of one of the greatest performances seen in women's cricket.
"Instead, the Aussie women were sen walking away like an army battalion whose pride had been hurt and could not wait to get back on the front & teach the 'enemy' a lesson.
"As it turned out, Australia lost that game easily.
"Australian players for some reason are convinced that showing grace on the field makes them weaker as opponents, when actually there is no connection between the two, as it was seen in this Women's game," Manjrekar concluded his note.

Allysa, who is the niece of the great Ian Healy and wife of current Aussie pace spearhead Mitchell Starc, was the first one to point out the ridiculousness of Manjrekar's post. "This makes me really mad. Completely unfair and very poorly timed. Why are you trying to drag our game down as well? Happy to discuss this with you in person instead of you just throwing these comments out there," she wrote.
Not just Alyssa, there were many, including former Australian cricketer Mel Jones, who slammed the Indian cricket 'expert' for his rant.

We will agree to disagree on this one & no doubt chat further Sanjay but this is way off the mark. First on timing & linking to recent events, 2nd on questioning the long established quality reputation of a team base on one incident adjudged from afar.

Clearly remember @AlexBlackwell2 hugging and giving her jersey to @ImHarmanpreet after the match.we cant generalize a team as unsporting based on one observation. #BallTemperingrow #steve smith #bcciwomen #indwvausw #David warner #WomensTriSeries

Why did you prefer to get this thought now ? Why not previously?

Don't kick a man when he's down. The @SouthernStars have an excellent attitude, this criticism is totally uncalled for.

Women's cricket is least tainted thing right now. Please, for heavens sake, don't ruin it for us fans. We have came a long way to find this glory for women's cricket. We fans respect all the players and teams. Please, don't ruin it.

All the while have seen the Australians were the first to appreciate great knocks by Sachin and VVS or Rahul

Feet going nowhere Sanjay. Poor shot.

You are no therapist or psychologist. Just call the game as it is. You are more of a fanboy when you commentate than a commentator. And stop trying to predict what players are thinking or talking.

Well, we can't help but agree with the voices against Manjrekar in this case. Beating a country, or its cricketers, when they're already down doesn't take much courage.
