Virat Kohli is one of the best Test batsmen in the current arena of Test cricket. The World No. 1 Test batsman has already notched up 6,000-plus runs in just 75 Tests and has been averaging more than 50 in this format.

With every passing match, whenever Kohli comes out to bat, he ensured he has a new record or a broken record to his name. One of the elite records so far in his account is that he was the first batsman to score a double ton in four consecutive Test series. It was the longest such sequence as he went past Don Bradman and Rahul Dravid who had done it in three successive series.

However, when Kohli first came into the Test circuit, he did not taste success overnight.

Kohli made his Test debut in 2011 in an away series against the West Indies. His first Test appearance ended with forgettable scores of 4 and 15. That was followed by a duck and he needed five innings since his debut to finally score a fifty.

Right after Kohli's sixth Test for India, which came during the Down Under tour in Sydney, cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar made a severe tweet about Kohli as he thought the future Indian skipper didn't belong to Test cricket.

"I would still drop VVS & get rohit in for next test. Makes long-term sense. give virat 1 more test..just  to be sure he does not belong here," Manjrekar tweeted.

As they say social media can be both helpful and dangerous and this time around, for Manjrekar it was the latter. A tweet which he did six years back in 2012 suddenly got bombarded with trolling and angry comments from cricket fans.

Recently, Kohli led India to a 31-run win in the Adelaide Test against Australia and by doing so Kohli's India became the first-ever touring Indian side to win the opening Test of a Down Under tour.

Meanwhile, Kohli and his deputy Ajinkya Rahane remained unbeaten on 82 and 51 respectively at stumps of Day two of the ongoing second Test at Perth.
