Virat Kohli – the man who has left the journalists on a hunt of more adjectives that can describe his talent that only seems to be increasing with every game. He is statisticians’ favourite subject but at times, he can be their worst nightmare as well; especially on the days when he breaks a record after another in a single match.

For other cricketers, he is an inspiration and for his fans, his game is a pure joy to watch.

Kohli made his debut as a 19-year-old but today, when he has entered the big club of 30, he has well made a mark for himself as a class batsman at home and overseas as well.

Having played 73 Tests, Kohli already has notched up 6,331 runs at an average of 54.57 and has scored 24 centuries. Meanwhile, in the shorter formats, from 216 ODIs, Kohli has 10,232 runs including 38 tons at an average of 59.83 and has played 62 T20Is, he has scored 2,102 runs at an average of 48.88.

Even the pressure of captaincy could not shake his confidence and form and Kohli has been setting an example with the bat as he has been leading from the front across the formats for Team India. As the Indian skipper enters the big 30, we take a look at 30 records he holds right now:

►In the recently ended five-ODI series against West Indies, Kohli had scores of 107, 157* and 140 in the first three matches and he became the first Indian batsman to score three consecutive ODI tons.

►Kohli scored a hundred against the BlackCaps in October 2017 at Kanpur. That game was India’s last ODI at home before the West Indies series. By scoring hundreds in the first three matches against the Windies, Kohli went past Pakistan’s Zaheer Abbas to become the only player in the world to score four centuries in consecutive home ODIs.

►When Kohli crossed 1,000 ODI runs in 2018, it was for the second year on the trot he had done so. This year, he bettered his own record of fewest innings to 1,000 ODI runs in a calendar year after taking just 11 innings in 2018.
