Only one Indian official named in ICC's list of umpires for upcoming U19 World Cup 2020 in South Africa

The ICC U19 WC is scheduled to take place in South Africa from January 17 onwards.

Anil Chaudhary became the only Indian official to be named in the list of umpires who will be officiating at the International Cricket Council (ICC) U19 World Cup, scheduled to take place in South Africa from January 17 onwards.

Anil will be part of the 16-man umpire team who will be taking charge of the matches at the tournament. The 54-year-old, who was one of the officials during India's ongoing three-match series against Sri Lanka, has a lot of experience under his belt and has taken charge of 20 ODIs and 27 T20 Internationals over the years now.

"The U19 Cricket World Cup is a very important event in our calendar as it brings together the world's most promising young players in a major ICC tournament, giving them the experience of competing on the global stage."

"We are committed to appointing the finest officials available and I have confidence in the team traveling to South Africa for the U19 Cricket World Cup they will do a fine job. I wish them all the best,” ICC Senior Manager (Umpires and Referees), Adrian Griffith said.

All the umpire and match referee for the knockout stages of the tournament will be announced once all the nations confirm their teams.

Umpires: Roland Black, Ahmad Shah Pakteen, Sam Nogajski, Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, Ian Gould, Wayne Knights, Rashid Riaz Waqar, Anil Chaudhary, Patrick Bongani Jele, Iknow Chabi, Nigel Duguid, Ravindra Wimalasiri, Masudur Rahman Mukul, Asif Yaqoob, Leslie Reifer, Adrian Holdstock.

Match Referees: Graeme Labrooy, Shaid Wadvalla, Phil Whitticase.
