Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bagged Carlos Braithwaite for INR 5 crores - the highest bid so far - in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 Auction on Tuesday. 

 

 

Brathwaite warmed the bench with Sunrisers Hyderabad for most of the IPL edition last year. 

The West Indian grabbed the limelight duirng the 2016 ICC World T20. West Indies needed 19 runs off the final over in the final match against England, Brathwaite hit four consecutive sixes in the first four balls to lead West Indies to their second World T20 title. 

Around 351 cricketers, including 228 Indians are expected to go under the hammer on Tuesday in Jaipur. There was a total of around 1,003 players initially registered for the auction, but the final list was released with a figure of 351, including the last-minute entry of five players. This will include the 119 capped, 229 uncapped and two associate nation players available for auctions.
