Ravi Shastri has attracted eyeballs for his statements in an interview or press conference in the ongoing Border Gavaskar trophy in Australia.

After winning the opening Test by 31 runs at the Adelaide Oval, Team India ended up losing the second match in Perth by a margin of 146 runs.

There were plenty of questions raised by commentators and panelists against Indian batting and team selections after the loss. Mocking those questions, in one of the statements, the Indian head coach Shastri said, "When you are millions of miles away, it is very easy to fire blanks."

However, tables turned once again as India have dominated the hosts thoroughly in the ongoing fourth Test in Sydney. They posted 622 runs in the first innings before bundling out the Aussies for 300. Kohli then became just the second Indian captain after Kapil Dev to have enforced follow-on in Australia.

Sony Network, the official broadcasters of the series in India, have various veterans of the game as their panelists. On Sunday, Murali Karthik spoke about how the Perth defeat was a wake-up call for India. To which, Sunil Gavaskar referring to Shastri's earlier comment sarcastically said, "And how did that wake up call come? Because of the blanks being fired from thousands of miles away. The blanks made the noise that woke this team up!"
