However, unlike Latif, Sarfraz went to the third umpire for a decision

What do Pakistan cricket captain Sarfraz Ahmed and former wicketkeeper Rashid Latif have in common? They claim catches that they drop. While Rashid Latif did this in a match against Bangladesh and claimed a catch that he dropped, Sarfraz Ahmed decided to review it with the third umpire. We don’t know which one is better, but since both are trending topics, drawing parallels brought a chuckle.
Asela Gunaratne was batting against Mohammad Amir, who was in the middle of a dream spell. Unable to read the direction of the ball, Gunaratne edged one to the wicketkeeper and it appeared as if Sarfraz Ahmed had grabbed a beauty.
Amir started celebrating the wicket but stopped abruptly after seeing Sarfraz Ahmed unsure about the catch. The captain signalled to the umpire to review the catch to the third umpire.
However, as it turned out from camera angle behind the keeper, the ball clearly popped out in front of his gloves and the man at slips was the prime witness of the incident. Still, Sarfraz Ahmed advised the umpire to ask the third umpire for a review of the catch.

Twitter of course was brutal after Sarfraz Ahmed claimed the catch during the qualifying match against Sri Lanka on Monday evening.

If Rashid Latif were instead of @SarfarazA_54 , he would have claimed it out . Cant forget that Multan incident. #PAKvSL #CT17
