On the back of Jonny Bairstow's unbeaten innings of 86 runs off 48 balls, England won the first game chasing 180.

South Africa had England at 34/3 after debutant spinner George Linde's twin strikes. The game looked in SA's control, before the partnership between Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow snatched it away from them.

South Africa had to blame themselves as well as they gave away 15 extras and that one over from Beuran Hedricks cost them 28 runs, when England required 51 off the last four overs.

Faf du Plessis and skipper Quinton de Kock's 77-run partnership and some late runs from Rassie van der Dussen helped SA reach 179, which was a strong total given the nature of the Newlands' sluggish surface.

South Africa would want to put aside the first game's loss and come back stronger at Paarl on Sunday, November 29. At the post-match presentation, De Kock said that they don't need to change things drastically as they were in the game for the majority of the time. But, the Proteas need to pull their game up against a blistering English side, who have been destroying oppositions for fun in the last few years in white-ball cricket.

England, on the other hand, would like to seal the series on Sunday and wouldn't want to give their opponents a sniff. Although, they won the game, skipper Eoin Morgan did mention that they needed to bowl better lengths and they gave away too many runs.
