Select pulses slide on low demand, adequate stocks

Select pulses led by gram drifted lower by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today because of slide in demand against adequate stock position.

Traders said fall in demand from retailers against stock glut on increased supplies from producing regions chiefly led to the decline in gram and other pulses prices.

In the national capital, gram, gramdal local and best quality were down by Rs 100 each to 5,100-6,000, Rs 5,800- 6,200 and Rs 6,200-6,300 per quintal, respectively.

Arhar and its dal dara variety also tumbled by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,700 and Rs 5,800-7,600 per quintal, respectively.

Urad and its dal chilka finished lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,000-5,900 and Rs 5,100-5,200 per quintal, respectively.

Its dal best quality and dhoya went lower by a similar margin to Rs 5,200-5,700 and Rs 5,600-5,800 per quintal, respectively.
