Select base metals gained further at the non-ferrous metal market here today on sustained stockists' buying amid steady demand from alloy industries.

While, copper utensils and copper sheet cuttings eased following mild demand from industrial users.

Nickel surged by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 705 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 700 and copper scrap heavy rose by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 406 as against Rs 402 yesterday.

Copper cable scrap and copper billets edged up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 412 and Rs 440 as compared to Rs 410 and Rs 438 previously.

Lead inched up by Rs 157 per kg.

However, copper utensils edged down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 361 from Rs 363 yesterday and copper sheet cuttings softened by a Re per kg to Rs 377 per kg.
