In an effort to compete with Reliance Jio, BSNL has now increased the daily data benefit of its combo plans and 3G Data STVs by 2GB. The offer will be available to customers, starting June 18.

This implies that prepaid unlimited combo plans of Rs 999, Rs 666, Rs 485, Rs 429 and Rs 186 will now receive an additional 2GB daily data, over the regular current plan. Also, the 3G Data STV plans of Rs 448, Rs 444, Rs 333, Rs 349 and Rs 187 will also receive an additional 2GB daily data, over the regular current plan respectively. If you have exhausted your daily data limit then you will get access to 40Kbps speed.

Recently, BSNL also introduced a new STV offer, which will be valid between June 14 to July 15, the duration of the FIFA World Cup. To attract customers, BSNL has pegged the offer at a very attractive price point. Users can buy the pack for Rs 149 which comes with a 4GB data limit per day and is valid for 28 days. However, this offer is not applicable for customers in Mumbai and Delhi.

Also, this offer doesn't have any voice calling and SMS benefit. It is purely an offer for the hardcore football fans. Also, this is only available for prepaid customers. For other select 3G schemes, BSNL is offering two 2GN extra data in the respective price points.

At a point, when Airtel, Vodafone and Reliance Jio are slugging it out over retaining and acquiring customers by offering attractive data options, state-run BSNL has clearly expressed its intent that it doesn't wish to be left behind.
