Meanwhile, pulses acreage has risen 24 per cent to 74.61 lakh hectares so far in the kharif season, the Agriculture Ministry said.

In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local plunged by Rs 300 each to Rs 4,400-5,300 and Rs 4,500-4,600 per quintal, respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 4,600-5,100 and Rs 5,000-5,200 per quintal.

Masoor small and bold shed Rs 50 each to Rs 3,650-3,850 and Rs 3,700-3,950 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,000-4,500 and Rs 4,100- 4,600 per quintal.

Malka local and best quality also declined by Rs 50 each to Rs 4,250-4,450 and Rs 4,350-4,550 per quintal, respectively.

Arhar and its dal dara variety too drifted down by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 3,600 and Rs 5,600-7,400 per quintal, respectively.

On the other hand, gram, gramdal local and best quality moved in a narrow range on alternate bouts of buying or selling and settled at previous levels of Rs 5,300-6,200, Rs 6,000-6,400 and Rs 6,400-6,500 per quintal, respectively.

Kabuli gram small variety and rajmah chitra also maintained a steady trend at Rs 9,300-10,500 and Rs 7,700- 10,000 per quintal, respectively. (MORE)
