AirAsia India has announced all-inclusive flight tickets at a starting price of Rs 999. The deal is applicable on the selected domestic flights for next year.

The promotional offer is valid for limited time. According to the AirAsia website, the airlines is offering flight tickets starting at Rs 999 on selected flights from Kolkata to Bagdogra.

Under its scheme, "2018 Travel Deals", passengers can book tickets upto December 10, 2017 for the travel period starting from May 7, 2018 to January 31, 2019. Some other flight ticket prices offered under the promotional scheme include an all-inclusive Rs 1,099, for select flights on the Bhubaneswar-Kolkata, Kochi-Bengaluru, Goa-Bengaluru, Hyderabad-Bengaluru and Imphal-Guwahati routes, and Rs. 1,399, for select flights between Kolkata and Ranchi, the website stated.

The airline is also offering tickets starting at Rs 1,499 for select flights between Pune and Bengaluru, and between Visakhapatnam and Bengaluru, according to the AirAsia website. However, the airline made it clear that the offer is available exclusively for online bookings at www.airasia.com.

Flyers are required to make advance bookings for availing the offer and "fares are not available during embargo period", the airline mentioned on its website. Fares include airport taxes (except for selected airports where airport tax is collected at the point of departure), according to the AirAsia website.

AirAsia India did not clear the number of seats available under the offer but it did mention that seats are limited and may not be available on all flights. The offer is applicable on one-way journeys and valid for new purchases only, AirAsia added.

To traveller's delight, IndiGo is also offering flight tickets starting at Rs 1,005 on selected routes. According to the airline's flight booking portal - goindigo.in, IndiGo is offering all-inclusive tickets on select flights from Bagdogra to Guwahati from Rs 1,005. The airline is also offering flights from Jammu to Srinagar starting at Rs 1,112, from Coimbatore to Chennai at Rs 1,195 and from Kochi to Chennai at Rs 1,215, according to the IndiGo website.

Meanwhile, the Narendra Modi government has asked airlines to rollback the cancellation fee of Rs 3,000. The government thinks that the Rs 3,000 cancellation fee charged by a few airlines on domestic tickets is "too high".

It said it will soon speak to airlines on the issue and ask them to charge the reasonable amount.

"We believe cancellation charges are on the high side and onerous for passengers. The Rs 3,000 fee is in many cases more than the price of the ticket itself. Our UDAN (subsidised regional flying) scheme has capped fares at Rs 2,500 per hour of flying. These cancellation charges need to be brought back into balance," aviation minister Jayant Sinha told the Times of India.

The newspaper stated that the aviation minister has ordered a review of the massive amount charged by airlines. The move came after the latest hike in cancellation charges effected by some airlines on domestic travel.

Meanwhile, in the wake of a huge row over manhandling of a passenger by IndiGo Airlines last month, a Parliamentary committee examined the issue of "behaviour of airline personnel towards passengers".

The Department Related Parliamentary Standing Committee of Transport, Tourism and Culture headed by Trinamool Congress MP Derek O' Brien has called the Secretary of Ministry of Civil Aviation, along with representatives of Airports Authority of India, Directorate General of Civil Aviation and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security.
