AirAsia has announced its BIG sale. AirAsia India offer is valid till November 18. The travel period to avail the discount is May 6, 2019 - February 4, 2020.

Customers need to book their tickets in advance. AirAsia will give discounts, if only customers book tickets by registering under BIG member discount on its official website.

"Passengers can book this week up to November 18 for travel from May 6, 2019 to February 4, 2020 with one-way tickets at Rs. 399 on domestic and Rs. 1,999 on international routes," news agency Indo-Asian News Service quoted Air Asia India as saying in a statement.

"Fares are not available during the embargo period", AirAsia said on its website.

"The offer is available on all flights operated by our group network, including AirAsia India, AirAsia Berhad, Thai AirAsia, and AirAsia X," AirAsia India said.

AirAsia's offer on flight tickets, valid on domestic and international routes, covers 120 destinations across Asia, Australia and beyond, the airline as said.

Earlier in October, AirAsia India announced appointment of Tata group veteran Sunil Bhaskaran as chief executive officer and managing director, amid the no-frills airline preparing to expand its operations.

The carrier, which currently has a fleet of 19 planes, is a joint venture between Tatas and Malaysia's AirAsia Berhad.

Bhaskaran's appointment would be effective from November 15, AirAsia India said.

Currently, he is vice president of corporate services at Tata Steel and has over three decades of experience in the fields of manufacturing, export and commercial operations with the Tata group.

He would be the third CEO and MD of Bengaluru-headquartered AirAsia India, which started operations in June 2014.

He would "oversee the next phase of expansion and growth of the company", the release said.

Bhaskaran would replace Amar Abrol, who stepped down from the position in June to join back the parent company AirAsia in Malyasia.

"We are delighted to welcome Bhaskaran as the new CEO and MD of AirAsia India," AirAsia India Chairman S Ramadorai said.

With India's aviation sector growing at a rapid pace, Ramadorai also expressed confidence that his extensive experience, ability to drive performance and work seamlessly with all stakeholders would be a great asset for AirAsia India.
