"Katappa ne Baahubali ko kyun maara?" - A question that had haunted the cinema lovers for about two years post the release of Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati starrer Baahubali: The Beginning. People waited with baited breath for the sequel to hit the theatres to know the answer.

While the shooting of Baahubali: The Conclusion was going on, people had come up with a number of fan theories, suggesting the answer to the question - 'Why Katappa killed Baahubali?'. However, it must be given to the credit of the filmmaker, SS Rajamouli, who managed to keep the suspence of the sequel intact and guarded it for almost 2 years, despite shooting with such a huge number of artists.

The fans got to know the answer in Baahubali 2, Rajamouli has now shared that very few people actually knew the answer to the question. In a recent interview, when Rajamouli was asked about how many people knew the answer to the million dollar question and how hard was it to keep it a secret, the director revealed that it wasn't very difficult to solve the mystery behind that question had the audience seen the film twice, keeping their minds completely engaged.

He was quoted as saying, "When we talk about why Katappa killed Bahubali, it is not such a difficult question to answer. If you just look at the film twice and put a little bit mind to it, the answer is evident. Even when people were tweeting to me, there were many people who got it right. “But the actual question is not why Katappa killed Bahubali, what they mean by that is how Katappa killed Bahubali, you know that is what people are actually asking. How could he do it? And that answer is not easy to guess."

Rajamouli went on to share how the mystery was kept alive despite shooting with so many people on the sets. He said, "Very few people, maybe around 10-15 people would have known the entire story. But what happens with your unit is that you’re shooting for such a long time, you’re shooting for about two years and we were not shooting in a chronological order, it was one scene here one shot there. And again when we are shooting, we are shooting so many layers for each shot and the unit members don’t really know what we are actually filming. It is impossible for them to connect all the dots. It’s easy to keep them confused and it’s not willfully done, that’s the pattern how it’s done. That’s the reason why none of the rest of the unit members actually knew the answer."
