Whoa! Designer Ashley Rebello creates a record

Celebrity designer Ashley Rebello has created a record of sorts by designing more than 100 costumes for Raai Laxmi in her debut Bollywood film Julie 2. Most of them are hot, skimpy and sexy as she plays an actress in the film that traces her journey from a poor girl to a glam diva. Says Ashley, “I have designed a variety of costumes including gowns, swim suits, outfits for her item songs and period dresses among others. It’s a wide range.” The only challenging thing for him was to make her look slimmer as she is slightly on the heavier side. “But she told me everybody is not a stick thin model girl and there are those who are on the healthier side. I agreed and then, it was easy,” says Ashley, who sometimes designed costumes overnight and at times at leisure. “Especially for her item numbers. I have done such outfits for so many girls like Malaika Arora, Isha Koppikar and Jacqueline Fernandez, so Laxmi trusted me to make her look hot,” says the designer who has even handwritten on her swimsuit. “I had done the same for Neha Dhupia in Julie,” he smiles.
