Karan Johar was present at the trailer launch of Lust stories which will begin streaming of Netflix from June 15. On the same day, Salman Khan's Race 3 too hits the the theatres. While Lust Stories is a collection of 4 short films, helmed by Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Anurag Kashyap, Remo D'Souza's Race 3 is the third installment in the Race franchise.

At the trailer launch of Lust Stories, Karan was asked if he thinks that Lust Stories will have the power and 'lust' to overpower Salman Khan's big Eid release Race 3. The director replied saying that they don't have the ability to compete with the might of Salman Khan. He said, "Salman Khan is on a different platform. He is the big master of mainstream cinema. Race (3) is going to be a humongous film. It's a franchise film. It's a totally different film with a totally different syntax. We're not competing or fighting."

Karan added, "Hamari woh aukat hi nahi hai to fight with Salman Khan or Race. We are actually four very happy filmmakers who've made a tiny little film, which we're very gratified to Netflix for, who've accepted our film with open arms. We're not competing with anyone. We don't have the right to compete with the magnitude of Salman Khan. I mean Race is like... I probably will be going to watch Race on (June) 15 and not Lust Stories."

Lust Stories is an anthology of 4 shorts that stars Manisha Koirala, Radhka Apte, Bhumi Pednekar Kiara Advani, Neha Dhupia, Vicky Kaushal, Sanjay Kapoor, Jaydeep Ahlawat among others. The film releases on Netflix on June 15.
