Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have always stood up for the right things and are known for supporting social causes like Swach Bharat Abhiyan, sustainable environment and animal welfare. Recently, while travelling in Mumbai, Anushka spotted a commuter throwing plastic on the road and it made her so angry that she rolled down the window pane of her car and gave him an earful, then and there.
She stopped the car and asked the man seated on the back seat of a luxury car, “Why are you throwing garbage on the road?” The man obviously got startled and had nothing to say in his defence. “Please give careful you cannot go on throwing plastic on the road. Please use dustbin next time,” she added.
Her husband Virat Kohli, who also happened to be present in the car, filmed the entire incident and shared it on social media.He posted the video with a caption, “Saw these people throwing garbage on the road & pulled them up rightfully. Travelling in a luxury car and brains gone for a toss. These people will keep our country clean? Yeah right! If you see something wrong happening like this, do the same & spread awareness.” His anger was quite evident in the caption.
The video went viral within minutes of its release. While most of them applauded the couple for their act, there were a few others who called it a publicity stunt. Virat showed them their place, by tweeting, “Lot of people who don't have the courage to do something like this find it funny. Everything for people nowadays is meme content. Shame.”
