'Tiger Zinda Hai aur mera naam Preity Zinta Hai' Actress laughs off the name change rumours

After being in the movie business for almost two decades and after Preity Zinta gave us memorable films like Kal Ho Na Ho, Veer Zara and Kya Kehna, the actress is still battling confusion about her name.

Shocking! Isn't it. Well, even the actress is not amused about reports which claim that her original name was Preetam Singh Zinta and she changed it to Preity Zinta when she entered the film industry. Apparantely Wikipedia also had this false information about her name change for the longest time.

In a series of tweets, the actress laughed off rumours about her parents naming her Preetam. She even ended up sharing a poster of Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif's upcoming film and wrote, " By the way, Tiger Zinda Hai aur mera naam Preity Zinta Hai." Doing her bit to promote Bhaijaan's big Friday release as well.

Kal Ho Na Ho actress even revealed how she got rechristened as Preetam Singh. Zinta tweeted, " During Soldier's shoot, Bobby Deol named me Pritam coz I was one of the boys. The movie became a hit and so did the name."
