The trend of biopic is hot in Bollywood and after Sushant Singh Rajput in the role of MS Dhoni, get set to watch yet another film based on the achievement of men in blue.

After the debacle of Salman Khan's Tubelight, filmmaker Kabir Khan is planning to make a film on Indian cricket team's first win at the World Cup in 1983 and if reports are to be believed Kabir Khan is all set to launch a project with Arjun Kapoor in the lead who will be seen as the captain Kapil Dev.

According to Mid-Day, the film is tentatively titled ‘World Cup 1983’ and the film's script will be penned by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. It’ll be co-produced by Phantom Films and the founder and managing director of the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), Vishnu Vardhan Induri. A big announcement is expected to be made on September 27 when the film will be launched in a grand way. A source informed, “A mammoth event is being planned to announce the film on September 27. The makers hope that the Indian players who brought the cup home will grace the occasion.”

Apart from Arjun Kapoor, names of Ranveer Singh and Hrithik Roshan were also doing the rounds in the past.
