There have been reports that Suniel Shetty is jumping on the production bandwagon and starting a banner of his own. However, Anna (as he is fondly addressed by the film fraternity) dismisses the rumours.
The actor explains, “I’m not coming up with any production house. Someone asked me how many films I’m doing. So I just said that I have four-five movies lined up. They took it for granted that I’m producing them.”
He further adds, “I am not doing production on my own at all now, when it comes to films. I am just helping a few friends with their films, that’s all. Like the film being directed by Priyadarshan and stars Abhishek Bachchan. That’s because both are great friends of mine. So yes, I’m involved with that film. That’s just it. The production that I’m doing is in terms of content — whether it’s our partnership with Tata Sky, our fitness service or our acting academy.”
Although he doesn’t rule out the possibillity of launching his own banner someday, “There’s Tiya (Athiya), and Ahan is debuting next year. So nothing right now, at least for another year or two, till they manage their foothold doing what they want to do. Then, if they need me to produce something, then I will obviously do it. But it will only be for Athiya and Ahan, when they need it.” he signs off.
