Sridevi funeral: 'I am so sad I didn't get to say goodbye', says Preity Zinta

The entire nation is grieving the loss of India's female superstar Sridevi. Preity Zinta who currently with her husband Gene Goodenough in the US is deeply saddened by the fact that she didn't get a chance to bid her goodbye. Paying tribute to her in the iconic song, Hawa Hawai, Kal Ho Na Ho actress penned a heartwarming tribute to the actress. She even revealed that it was Sridevi who made her fall in love with cinema. Zinta took to social media and wrote, " Almost everyone I know has gone to say goodbye to her in Mumbai. I'm on the other side of the globe, it's midnight and I cannot sleep, burns into ashes and dust. Sridevi my icon is gone. "

She continued to write, "I close my eyes and see Hawa Hawai smiling at me. She will always be in my heart. I wish her peace and feedom. I'm so sad I did not get to say goodbye."

She even slammed the media speculation around her death. Preity Zinta wrote, I'm upset and angry at the media circus. Everyone wants to gain from her departure. As her fan I hate it and I hate them. How dare they try to take her dignity in death? I will not let this happen. Sridevi is an always will be the brightest star. A powerhouse of talent, spontaneity and sensuality. She will always be my Hawa Hawai."

"Thank you for always brightening up my life and for making me cry. Thank you for being so gracious and sweet and most of all thank you for making me fall in love with cinema. I love you Sridevi." 

Earlier Rani Mukerji said, “The love she had for me was so tremendous and intense that I feel somewhere I have lost a guiding light in my life. She has been my inspiration personally and professionally,”
