Sonam Kapoor reveals her role in Akshay Kumar's 'Pad Man' was chopped, here's why

Twinkle Khanna's debut production, Akshay Kumar-Radhika Apte-Sonam Kapoor starrer R Balki film Pad Man has The film has been applauded for the dialogue it has opened up about menstrual hygiene by bringing to the celluloid the real life story of social entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham, who's credited to have invented low cost sanitary pads for the women of his village.

 

 

While Akshay Kuamr was seen playing the protagonist, Radhika Apte was seen in the role of his wife and Sonam Kapoor essayed a management student who helps Akshay. In an interview with Huffington post, Sonam revealed that her role was edited out to cut short the length of the film. "There was more to that relationship than what was shown. It was edited out to make the film shorter. At the end of the day, if we were able to say what we wanted to say, I think it’s okay,” she said.

 

Further talking about the screen presence, the actress was quoted as saying, "You cannot be insecure about such things and constantly kill yourself over screen time. That’ll make you suffer. You got to be confident about the value you bring to the film as well as be conscious of what the film is contributing to the society at large."

 

Meanwhile, Sonam will next be seen in a special appearance in the upcoming Sanjay Dutt biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor and Veere Di Wedding. Veere Di Wedding also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania.
