Shahid Kapoor to take a month-long paternity break in September

Before welcoming his second baby, Shahid Kapoor is ensuring that he wraps up all his professional commitments. Two days ago, he left for Uttarakhand for the shoot of his next, Batti Gul Meter Chalu (BGMC). The actor had shot for its first schedule in Tehri alongside Shraddha Kapoor before the production ran into trouble. Now, the duo has resumed shoot in Tehri and Dehradun, which will continue into mid-June, after which they will return to Mumbai to wrap up the schedule. We hear, the makers had asked for extra dates from Shahid as the film had got delayed. The Padmaavat actor has been accommodating and allocated the same.  

Says a source, “After finishing BGMC, Shahid will get into the shoot of Arjun Reddy (AR), the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit, for which he will be sporting a different look. He will be growing his hair and beard, so he will wrap up BGMC before starting AR.”

The BGMC shoot will wrap up in June and Shahid begins AR towards July-end in Mumbai. The actor is managing his dates in such a way that he can be with his wife, Mira, when they have their second baby. “Shahid’s wife is due in September, so he will take about a month’s break to be with his family, post which he will resume AR’s shoot,” states another source. During the birth of Misha, too, Shahid had taken a paternity break to spend time with her and Mira.
