REVEALED: Details of Alia Bhatt's film with Meghna Gulzar!

Alia Bhatt has been on a break since Badrinath Ki Dulhania released. The actress has signed Ayan Mukerji's Dragon opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy with Ranveer. But both the films still have some time to go on floors. 

In the meanwhile, she will shoot and wrap up a smaller film, Meghna Gulzar's next. In a recent interview, talking about the film, Alia said, "I won't give you too many details. All I will say is that I am going to start something very exciting in the month of July. I feel it's a really interesting project, has a great story and is one of my most challenging roles till date. Every time I think that I am doing those challenging roles, a new one comes up. I am already prepping."

So here are the details. Her film is based on Harinder S. Sikka's book Calling Sehmat. And here's what the book's synopsis is like -
"Calling Sehmat is a thrilling saga of a spy who gave all of herself and that of her family in the service of our nation, so that we may live in peace. It is a story of a kashmiri woman who married a Pakistani Army officer so as to provide the Indian intelligence with invaluable information during the Indo-Pak war of 1971."

While Meghna has roped in Alia to play the titular character's role - that of the Kashmiri spy, Vicky Kaushal is reportedly playing her husband in the thriller. The film will hit screens sometime early next year.
