Ranveer Singh is blessed: Govinda

Ranveer Singh is a self-confessed huge fan of Govinda. During his wedding last week, he even danced to the senior actor’s hit number Meri Pant Bhi Sexy (Dulara) at his baaraat. When we asked Govinda for his reaction, he quipped, “I know. DP pe bhi mujhe lagake rakha hai! When we were shooting together for Kill Dil, Ranveer acted out several of my scenes and performed some of my songs in front of me. I was shocked.” 

The Hero No 1 actor, who is equally fond of the Gen-Y star, adds, “Ranveer is a natural, he comes, meets and talks in a very personal way. Even his approach to acting is natural. I like it. At the same time, woh dare karta hai, bahut himmati hai.” Ask him if he also means in terms of his fashion sense, which is outlandish, or just the film choices and Govinda says it’s both. “He is classy. And, look at the films he has done! In my 33-year-old career, there hasn’t been one film with such a big canvas, grandeur (referring to Padmaavat) nor have I worked with a very big producer-director. And, when I got an opportunity I didn’t do it,” he laughs adding that Ranveer is blessed. 

Interestingly, the dancing sensation’s favourite actress among the contemporary ones is Deepika Padukone. “She, too, is a natural performer. I also like Vidya Balan for the same reason,” he says. Does he watch many movies? “I don’t see many films, but watch a lot of scenes on repeat,” smiles Govinda, who will next be seen in Rangeela Raja.
