Rajinikanth missed the prayers for Sridevi in Chennai, here's why

The final round of prayer meets for Sridevi, who passed away on February 24, was held in her home town Chennai yesterday at a city hotel. The Kapoor family head, Boney flew into Chennai on Saturday with a heavy heart.

He had been a frequent visitor to the Tamil Nadu capital with his wife and they usually stayed at her home or a hotel in the heart of the city, ordering home-cooked meals from the actress’ kitchen. However, this time around, the sad turn of events was something Boney was not counting on. 

With a heavy heart he and his brother-in-law (Sri’s sister Latha’s husband) Sanjay Ramaswami met the continuous stream of visitors who had come to offer their condolences.  Tamil cinema icon, Rajinikanth was not in town, we hear.

However, the rest of the Tamil cinema industry, for whom Sri’s death is an irreparable loss as it is for all of us, made it a point to spend their time in prayer.
