After Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat in January, Devgn’s latest release has become the second highest grosser of 2018 with 41.25 crore earnings in just 3 days.
The box-office collection has been improving with each passing day thanks to good word of mouth publicity. Trade expert Ramesh Bala confirmed Raid's box-office mathematics on Twitter and wrote, " Raid takes the 2nd biggets opening for a bollywood movie after #Padmaavat. Friday 10.04 crores, Saturday 13.86 crores and sunday 17.35 crores makes it a total of 41.25 crores."
In an interview to DNA After Hrs, Ajay Devgn was all praises for his director Rajkumar Gupta. Elorabarting on his decision to do this film Devgn said, " With Raid, I thought Raj Kumar can pull it off, seeing what he has done earlier with Aamir and No One Killed Jessica. Once I started shooting this film, I realised he is very good." The period drama is set in the early 1980s with Lucknow as the background, the film revolves around a true incident of the longest raid in history.
Kajol also enjoyed watching the film along with her son Yug as the duo gave their verdict for Raid. Kajol took to Twitter and wrote, "My review of Raid:- Loved it. Laughed, clapped and wanted to take Amma home with me ! Yugs review:- I learnt about income tax! "
Meena Iyer's review in DNA After Hrs says: Watch Raid because despite the corruption around us, we still believe we can win the war against black money hoarders. Also, watch it for Ajay Devgn’s intensity. He is sincere, relentless and doesn’t blink even once. One star in the rating is reserved only for him.
