Padmavati: Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh will drive away your Monday blues!

This Navratri, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is in a mood to treat his fans with a royalty! After unveiling the first poster of his upcoming film, Padmvati where Deepika Padukone appeared in a royal avatar, it's now time to make way for Shahid Kapoor in the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh.

This is the first time, Shahid is working in a period drama and that too with the magician Sanjay Leela Bhansali His transformation looks fantastic for the role of a warrior and hopeully will erase memories of his last film, 'Rangoon'. Shahid plays Deepika Padukone's husband Rawal Ratan Singh who fought the vicious Alauddin Khilji aka Ranveer Singh to save his wife’s vanity. After Deepika and Shahid's look, we can't wait the first look of Ranveer Singh who will be seen in a negative role for the first time.

Keeping up with the auspicious dates, the first teaser of Padmavati will be unveiled on Dussehra. Says a source, “Bhansali is very traditional and he wanted auspicious dates even for his teaser and trailer release.”
