'Kedarnath' | Abhishek Kapoor denies differences with producers over clash with SRK's film

Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan is making her much-awaited debut opposite Sushant Singh Rajput with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath. While the film is currently being shot, speculations were rife that there has been a fallout between director, Abhishek and producer, Prerna Arora.

Reportedly, Abhishek insisted on releasing Kedarnath on the same date as Shah Rukh Khan's dwarf film by Aanand L Rai. As per sources, Prerna found it "ridiculous" to clash with SRK at the box-office. While she was in the middle of negotiating with SRK to come up with a solution, Abhishek confirmed the release date for Kedarnath on Twitter as December 21, 2018. Abhishek’s act did not go down well with the producer and apparently, both were at loggerheads.

Now as per a report in India Today, Abhishek has rubbished these reports and said, "This is so pointless, and senseless. We announced the release date of Kedarnath long ago. We didn't jump into it just because I wanted to compete with Mr Shah Rukh Khan's film. Our release date, December 21, was decided months ago. And my producers are very much on the same page as me."

Moreover, he added that there is no friction between him and the producer at all. "There is absolutely no friction with my producers on this issue. I see no problem in releasing Kedarnath on the same Friday as the Aanand L. Rai film with Shah Rukh. Two big films being released on the same Friday is not uncommon anymore. There are only 52 Fridays to choose from.", he said. 

Set against the backdrop of a pilgrimage, Kedarnath is a love story and will see Sara playing a rich tourist who falls in love with a 'pithu' or a tourist escort.
