Katrina Kaif to replace Priyanka Chopra in PT Usha biopic: Report

Post her performance in Shah Rukh Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer Zero, Katrina Kaif is definitely at a career high. Her acting skills have been appreciated at many levels and she bagged movies like Salman Khan starrer Bharat and Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi.

It is after these movies that Katrina Kaif might have her first biopic in the kitty. If reports on Pinkvilla are to be believed, then the actress would play the renowned athlete on-screen. The report states that the movie would be directed by ad filmmaker Revathy S Varma.

Interestingly, this very report also states that Priyanka Chopra was offered the role many years back. The 'Barfi' actress had to let go of her role because she was also doing Mary Kom, which was a biopic and story of an athlete, at that time. Her Hollywood commitments also reportedly got in the way of her signing the dotted lines.

A source told the daily that the movie would be a multi-lingual film which would show P.T Usha's life in detail. For the uninitiated, P T Usha is the sprinter who has won as many as 101 international medals, including Padma Shri and Arjuna Award. She is currently working as an officer in the Southern Railways and coaches young athletes at her training academy in Kerala.

Katrina is awaiting the release of Bharat and would soon begin shooting for Sooryavanshi. While Bharat brings her back with her three-time-director Ali Abbas Zafar, Katrina will be seen in a Rohit Shetty movie for the first time. Sooryavanshi is also produced by her good friend Karan Johar.
