With a career spanning over fifty years, Sridevi not just wowed fans but even the filmmakers for her dedication toward her work. Her sudden death has left everyone shocked and mourning for the loss of Bollywood's beloved 'Chandni'.

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt appeared on the Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty's reality show, 'India's Next Superstars' and paid tribute to India's first female superstar. According to IANS report, Bhatt sahab inspired the aspiring actors by sharing a story about Sridevi and her professional ways on the sets of 1993 film Gumrah which was directed by him.

Mahesh Bhatt narrated the incident when Sridevi continued to shoot for her scene inspite of high fever. “While shooting for Gumrah, we had to shoot a water sequence for which Sridevi was needed. I was informed that she is down with fever and we might have to postpone the shoot,” he said. “Worried about her health, I met her in her room and requested her that we continue shooting when she is fine because her condition was really bad. To my surprise, she refused to postpone the shoot,” he added. Getting nostagic about Sridevi, Mahesh Bhatt also said, “Sridevi shot inside water for hours with fever and didn’t say a word because she was so professional. I salute her spirit and I miss her dearly.”

Even Yash Chopra who had worked with Sridevi on several superhit films like Chandni and Lamhe had wonderful things to say about her. In an interview to Karan Johar, late filmmaker Yash Chopra had recalled the strength of the actress and her commitement towards work. While Sridevi was shooting for Lamhe in Manchester along with the cast and crew, the news of her father’s death had reached the director. He didn't have the courage to break the news to her and just asked her to take a flight back to home to visit her ailing father. Once Sridevi reached home and knew about her father's death, she immediately informed the director she will join back in 16 days and as she had promises, Sridevi was back on the 17th day. Yash Chopra tried comforting her and asked her if she was emotionally fit to play her onscreen character, Sridevi told her she was here to do her job and she will do it. Ironically she was supposed to shoot for a funny scene with funny scene with Waheed Rehman and she did it with perfection, without letting her personal loss come in the way of her work.
