The film narrating a chapter from the Indian history creates history with a trailer launch at the Parliament.

After films like Paan Singh Tomar and Sahib, Biwi aur Gangster, filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia is back to story telling at the movies. And the first look of his upcoming film, Raag Desh created history by launching its trailer at the Parliament in Delhi. The film starring Kunal Kapoor, Mohit Marwah and Amit Sadh in the lead roles is based on the Red Fort trails which changed the course of India's freedom movement. The film being presented by Rajya Sabha TV had Tigmanshu Dhulia excited as he said," Being a history student I always wanted to make a film on a freedom struggle and in the current Bollywood scenerio I knew no corporate houses would want to back a film like this.It's an interesting film and very informative too." Making up for the absence of Amit Sadh and Kunal Kapoor, Mohit Marwah was also there at the Parliament. The actor who was last seen in 2014 release Fugly.

Raag Desh revolves around the first trial that had three accused, Shah Nawaz Khan, Gurubaksh Singh Dhillon and Prem Sahgal charged with waging war against the king contrary to section 121 of the Indian Penal Code'. In addition, charges of murder were levelled against Dhillon and of abetment to murder against Khan and Sahgal. The defendants came from three different religions - one Hindu, one Sikh, and one Muslim - but all three elected to be defended by the defence committee set up by the Indian National Congress.
