Popular actress Sujata Kumar passed away late on Sunday night after battling stage four cancer

Actress Sujata Kumar, who played Sridevi's elder sister in 'English Vinglish', passed away on August 19.
As per a report in SpotBoye, she had fourth stage cancer, which had metastised. She was admitted at Mumbai's Lilavati hospital and reportedly had multiple organ failure before she died.
Sharing the news, younger sister and 'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa' actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi wrote on Twitter, “Our beloved Sujata Kumar has passed away and moved on to a better place leaving us with an umimaginable void. She left us an hour ago at 11.26 pm on the 19th of august 2018..Life can never be the same again...”

Suchitra followed it with another tweet where she informed that Sujata's mortal remains would be cremated at the Juhu cremation in Vile Parle on August 20, Monday. However, she deleted it later.
On August 18, Suchitra had urged her fans to pray for her sister. “It feels like somebody has plunged a hard cold knife into my heart and ripped the ground from under my feet as I sit outside the ICU and pray for my Suzie Puzie. My sister, my mother, my best friend, my darling Sujata Kumar as she battles for her life inside. Please join me and my family in our prayers for her,” she wrote.

It may be recalled that the ex-wife of Shekhar Kapur was hailed as a cancer survivor during the promotions of English Vinglish in 2012. Apart from Gauri Shinde's film, she had also starrer in Aanand L Rai's 'Raanjhanaa' and Anil Kapoor's television series '24'.
