Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a magician when it comes to tell a story from the bygone era!

And now with Padmavati he has gone a notch higher. Audience can expect not just grand sets and costumes but even the looks of Deepika Padukone as Queen Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as MahaRawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as the menacing Alaudin Khilji has created a stir on social media.

Bhansali revealed the first poster of  Padmavati on the auspicious occasion of Navaratri. Featuring Deepika Padukone as the royal queen Padmavati, the poster showcased her transformation for the part. Not just elaborate costumes and heavy jewelary, the actress even sported a uni brow to get her look right for the role of 13th century queen.

Next, it was Rana Rawal Ratan Singh who made a royal entry on Twitter at 6am on a Monday morning.First period film for Sasha, the poster revealed his extravagant appearance for the part. From long hair to earrings and the moustache, Shahid's fans were bowled over by the actor's look who was last seen in Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Rangoon'.  Shahid plays Deepika Padukone's husband in the film who fought the vicious Alauddin Khilji aka Ranveer Singh to save his wife’s vanity.

Last but definitely not the least is Ranveer Singh in the role of evil Sultan Alaudin Khilji. The actor is teaming up with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the third time but for his first anti-hero avatar. With kohled eyes, hairy chest, long hair and even a scar under an eye confirms the audience is going to enjoy hating his cruel avatar for Padmavati. His deadly look even screams out why Deepika Padukone needs to maintain her safe distance from him this time around. Apparantely,  Ranveer explored such hidden depths of negativity that he has actually had to see a shrink to get back to his ‘normal’ self. Our source says, “ Ranveer actually has his friends worried. To play Alauddin Khilji, he has been researching and exploring extreme negativity. He is a friendly, warm young man, like all of us. To become Khilji, he took the same route as he did to play Peshwa Bajirao. He locked himself up in his apartment, prepped and stayed in the head-space for weeks. Getting out of this dark, intimidating mindset wasn’t easy for him. The film has also been shot for almost a year now, so sustaining the Khilji persona was very challenging. It affected his reactions and behavior towards people. Which is why, his friends advised him to get help in emerging beyond Khilji. He is going to a psychiatrist to get rid of the Khilji influences.”

What are you waiting for? Go ahead and vote for your favourite royalty in Padmavati. Who rocks the look best: Deepika Padukone as Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Maha Rawal Ratan Singh or Ranveer Singh as Alaudin Khilji.
