Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat is doing wonders at the box office. The film has gathered much appreciation, especially it's leading actors Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, have been praised for portrayal of their respective characters in the film.

Ranveer has been showered with a lot of love and appreciation for his menacing portrayal of Alauddin Khilji in the film. Also, his scenes with Jim Sarbh, who plays Malik Kafur in Padmaavat, have also become a talking point post the release of the film.

But did you know that it was Ranveer only who had suggested Jim's name to SLB for the role of Malik Kafur. How do we know this?

Well, Ranveer himself spilled the beans in a conversation with BollywoodLife. When the actor was quizzed about Jim's performance and his chemistry with Jim in the film, Ranveer said, "People are talking so much about mine and Jim’s parts (laughs). It is so heartening to see that. Jim was one of the most enriching co-actor experiences I ever had. You must know this, casting Jim was my idea. I had seen Neerja and was blown away by his performance. I told Sanjay Sir to please try him out for the role of Kafur. Just after his first audition he got cast. I am too thrilled about the appreciation he is getting. We know well how much he has contributed towards the film."
