Veteran actor Deepti Naval confirmed rumours of her undergoing angioplasty. The procedure takes place to open clogged heart arteries.

The actress told Mumbai Mirror in an interview that she was admitted to the Fortis hospital Chandigarh late on Sunday. The report says that she suffered a heart attack at noon on Sunday in her Manali apartment.

Naval was rushed to the hospital soon after. When the daily got in touch with the actress, she confirmed being absolutely fine. “Yes, I was at the Fortis in Chandigarh, and had a small procedure which was done due to a health hazard. It’s being very well taken care of. I was admitted on Sunday night and should be discharged on Tuesday evening. I will be going back a happier person,” she said.

Deepti was last seen in Nawazuddin Siddiqui-Tannishtha Chatterjee's Oscar-nominated biographical film 'Lion'. She was more recently seen on the Amazon Prime Video show 'Made In Heaven'.

The actress was also seen in Arjun Kapoor-Sonakshi Sinha's 'Tevar', Anushka Sharma-produced film 'NH10' and Hrithik Roshan-Katrina Kaif's 'Bang Bang'.

She made her debut in Shyam Benegal’s 1978 film 'Junoon'. The actress has also been part of some iconic films like Chashme Buddoor, Ankahee, Mirch Masala, Firaaq, Memories of March and Listen Amaya among others.
