Deepika Padukone wraps up the first schedule of 'Chhapaak'

Deepika Padukone began the shoot for 'Chhapaak' in Delhi on March 20th, 2019 and wrapped the first schedule on April 18th.  After finishing the shoot, the actress headed back to Mumbai.

On March 25, Deepika Padukone unveiled her look from 'Chhapaak'.The 33-year-old actor also announced that the Meghna Gulzar-directed film will release on January 10 next year. 

The movie, which is based on the life of acid attack survivor and activist Laxmi Agarwal, is also Deepika's debut production venture. She will be co-producing the film with Fox Star Studios. 

In 2005, while Laxmi was waiting at a bus stop in Delhi, she was attacked by an assailant, a man twice her age, known to her family and an unlikely suitor whose advances she had declined. Agarwal had to undergo several surgeries. Later, she took up the job of helping acid attack survivors and promoted campaigns to stop such attacks.

The movie also features actor Vikrant Massey. Deepika was last seen on the big screen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmaavat'. Meanwhile, Vikrant last appeared in AltBalaji's web series titled 'Broken but Beautiful'.
