Deepika Padukone, who is riding high on success post the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, is all set to straight away dive into the Sapna Didi biopic. The actress will portray the mafia queen in Vishal Bhardwaj's next directorial venture and will pair up with her Piku co-star Irrfan Khan once again.

Now as per recent reports, the film has finally got a title and will be apparently called Rani. The shooting for the film is expected to start from March in Nepal.

Talking about her role, Deepika had earlier stated, "I guess I am drawn to strong characters. I am very excited to play this part. Like Padmaavat was a 13th century old story that even after so many years the power of women is visible to all today. We are standing up for ourselves with dignity. I find her journey so relevant.”

The movie is based on the life and times of Ashraf Khan, popularly known as Sapna Didi, who was a feared name in the underworld. Produced by Prernaa Arora's Kriarj Entertainment, the film is an adaptation of S Hussain Zaidi's book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai'.

The movie is slated to hit the theatres by year end. Well, how Deepika fares with her portrayal of a mafia queen is left to be seen as the role is certainly the biggest risk in her film career.
