'Coolie No 1' remake: Paresh Rawal steps in Kader Khan's shoes for Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan's film

Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan are all set to team up for the first time in David Dhawan's upcoming directorial Coolie No 1. The film is a remake of 1995 classic comedy starring Govinda and Karisma Kapoor in the lead roles. Coolie No 1 is all set to go on floors in the month of August in Bangkok and David completed recce a few days back. The film also reunites ace filmmaker with Vashu Bhagnani after 25 years.

Apart from Govinda and Karisma, original Coolie No 1 also starred late actor Kader Khan. Now as per reports in Mumbai Mirror, makers have roped in Paresh Rawal to step into the shoes of the legendary actor. Talking about the same, a source stated to the tabloid, "He plays the role of Sara’s father, Hoshiyar Chand, and the humour in the film revolves around his part. While the role in the original film was more in the orthodox zone, the new one has been tweaked as per modern sensibilities."

After shooting for 20 days in Bangkok, Varun and Sara will be heading to Goa for their next schedule. The source said, "After wrapping up the overseas shoot, the team flies to Goa to finish another big schedule of the film."

On May 1, 2019, Varun took to his social media pages and wrote, "Aaj ka Din, Agle Saal Aega Coolie No.1 - Hoga Kamaal !!! Coolie No.1 releases on May 1, 2020 #DavidDhawan #SaraAliKhan @vashubhagnani @poojafilms #1YearForCoolieNo1 #LabourDay"

This is Varun's third outing with his dad after Main Tera Hero and Judwaa 2.
