While Nawazuddin Siddique is at Sydney Film Festival to promote his upcoming film 'Manto', back in his hometown in Uttar Pradesh, Nawaz's brother has been booked for allegedly posting objectionable post on Facebook and hurting religious sentiments.

As per Hindu report, a complaint has been filed against Ayazuddin Siddiqui by Bharat Thakur, a Hindu Yuva Vahini activist and police has registered a case under section 153A of the IPC.

When ANI contacted Ayazuddin, he trashed all the charges against him. “A man posted a derogatory pic of Lord Shiva. I confronted him about it and wrote you shouldn’t share posts that can hurt anyone’s religious sentiments. Instead, a case was filed against me. Charges should be investigated,” he told ANI.

As per Hindu report, the local police also said that he had no intention of hurting anyone's religious sentiment. The Hindu quoted Hariram Yadav Deputy Superintendent of Police in Muzaffarnagar saying “He wrote something to the effect that condemned the offensive post but while writing it he also copy pasted the offensive picture which is the reason behind the HYV’s anger and complaint."

Meanwhile, the complainant has demanded strict action against Nawaz's brother to prove “that it is not easy to offend Hindus and it will fetch a deserving punishment of one dares to go down that road."

This is not the first time Siddique family has been in controversy for hurting religious sentiments. Back in 2016, Shiv Sena members protested against Nawazuddin Siddique performing the Ramlila in his hometown Budhana in Uttar Pradesh. The shows were forced to cancel last minute as they objected to 'a Muslim actor' going on stage in Ramlila.
