Salman Khan made headlines on Wednesday when he said that war is no solution and supported peace dialogue between the two warring neighbours. Now news of his film, Tubelight not getting a release in Pakistan comes as a shock as no distributor is ready to release Tubelight in Pakistan.
According to a Deccan Chronicle report, President of the Indian Film Exporters Association, Hirachand Dand, local distributors in Pakistan are hesitant to acquire the film, since there are two big local films scheduled for an Eid release and the makers don't want any competition, especially in the form of a Salman Khan film.
Bhaijaan has a massive fan following across the border, and with two local films releasing on the same day there are little chances of their own cinema surviving at the box office. Yalgaar which is touted as Pakistan's first international film and Shor Sharaba are being preferred over Salman film. Speculations of Tubelight releasing two weeks later in Pakistan also seems less likely to happen. As no distributor is ready to $5 lakh for a Salman starrer, two weeks after the film has released worldwide. Piracy being huge in Pakistan, the film would have reached the audience there.
Reports also hint that Tubelight being based on Indo-Chinese relation could also be a reason to not release the film in Pakistan. While Bhaijaan's two films with Pak connect manage a release there, Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan
