Like a number for recent trends, the trend of actors, turning singers has become quite popular in Bollywood movies. Some of the actors who've sung songs in their films include the likes of Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ayushmann Khurrana, Parineeti Chopra, Shraddha Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha among others.

While some of the members of the music industry, especially playback singers have expressed that actors should stick to singing as we have more than enough singing talent in the country, ace music composer AR Rahman is of a different opinion. He feels that if the actors spend enough time rehearsing for the songs they have to sing, it'll be a nice idea.

A report on IANS quoted Rahman as saying, "Actors singing their songs in movies is the general norm worldwide. The actors need time to practice singing for their song before they record it. Nowadays, actors are very busy with hectic schedules and juggling with work commitments, leaving them with no time to practice singing their song," adding that, "If they take time out and practice, it will be an amazing idea for them to sing for their movies."

The singer/composer was shooting for the promo of the singing reality show -- The Voice. Rahman will be seen as a judge on the Television screens for the first time.
