Salman Khan appears before Jodhpur court in connection with illegal arms act case

The next hearing in the case will be held on October 5 this year.

Bollywood actor who was last seen in Tubelight, appeared before a Jodhpur sessions court on Friday. The actor who was acquitted in January this year appeared in connection with illegal arms act case. Salman's lawyer told ANI earlier that he was scheduled to deposit a bail bond of Rs 20,000 on Friday. The court is likely to hear the prosecution's appeal on October 5.  The actor's lawyer Hastimal Saraswat told ANI ,"There will be no questions and answers only bail bond has to be submitted.Court had asked us to deposit bond of Rs 20,000,which we will deposit today.It is not essential for the accused to be present".

The 51-year-old star was charged in October 1998, with possessing an unlicensed .22 rifle and a .32 revolver and using them to poach two black bucks at Jodhpur's Kankani village. During the shooting of Sooraj Barjatya's movie, 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' in 1998, Salman allegedly went on a shooting expedition along with actors Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Sonali Bendre and Tabu, killing two black bucks in Kankani village.

Following protests by the local Bishnoi community, a case was later filed against Salman Khan and the other actors.
