Aamir Khan reveals a secret superstar in 'Secret Superstar' and the first song from the film featuring Zaira Wasim
The first song from Aamir Khan's 'Secret Superstar' is out. The actor who was suffering from Swine Flu is back to work and launched the film's song 'Main Kaun Hoon' in Mumbai.
The film tells the story of a 14 year old girl from Baroda, who dreams of becoming a singer, features Zaira Wasim in the lead role and has Aamir Khan in a special role. The first song from the film, 'Main Kaun Hoon' depicts her dilemma where she makes her debut on Youtube wearing under a burkha and says, 'I can't reveal my name' . The song has been sung by a 16 year old girl, Megha Mishra who has impressed Aamir. The actor said at the launch event that very few singers can sing without auto tuning.
Aamir Khan tweeted saying, "Presenting the first song of Secret Superstar, and along with one of the Secret Superstar, Megha. Thank you Amir, Thank you Kausar. Hope you like it,"
Superstar Aamir Khan had earlier said he intends to highlight the message of equality between boys and girls in the society, something which he did in his last blockbuster film "Dangal" as well. "Secret Superstar" revolves around a young girl (Zaira Wasim) and her dream to become a singer. Talking about the similarity between the two films, producer Aamir said in a statement here, "This film and 'Dangal' both are based on the same topic - which is changing the attitude towards girls. Treating girls equally as we treat our boys. This is again based on empowerment of the girl child."
Produced by Aamir, Kiran Rao under their banner Aamir Khan Productions, Zee Studios and Akash Chawla, "Secret Superstar" is written and directed by Advait Chandan. The film is slated to release this Diwali.
