Traffic restrictions for Independence Day in Bangalore

The traffic police have made elaborate arrangements to reduce confusion in and around the Cubbon Road venue.

In view of the Independence Day-2011 ceremonial parade, to be held at the Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground at 9am on August 15, the traffic police have made elaborate arrangements to reduce confusion in and around the Cubbon Road venue.

Mobile phones, cameras, radios, umbrellas and other suspicious items will be denied entry into the ground. Invitees must occupy their seats before 8.30 am.

The traffic restrictions in and around the Manekshaw Parade Ground, also known as the Brigade Parade Ground, is as follows:
All invitees with yellow car passes are requested to come on Cubbon Road and enter Gate No.1 facing the northern side of the ground, and park their vehicles on the western side of the ground.

All those with white car passes and secretaries to the government, military officers, police officers and others, are requested to use Gate No. 2 on Cubbon Road, in front of Military Supply Depot and park their vehicles to the north-east of parking lot inside the ground.

All invitees with pink passes should park their vehicles at BRV Police Parade Ground (Entry to BRV Parade Ground is through MG Road) and come to the parade ground through Gate No. 3 on foot.

All green car pass holders are requested to park their vehicles in parking lot on Kamaraja Road and Main Guard Cross Road and walk to the parade ground through Gate No.4.

All vehicles ferrying participants shall enter Gate No. 3 and park behind the fort wall inside the ground (southern side).

Government vehicles of PWD, BBMP and other departments shall enter the ground from Gate No. 3 and park behind the participant’s vehicles.

Two-wheelers can be parked on the northern side of Kamaraja Road and scooterists can enter through Gate No. 3 on Kamaraja Road by foot.

Those who do not have car passes can park their vehicles on Kamaraja Road parking area and enter ground through Gate No. 3.
